WireStix™ – Wire Size Identification Tool – Field Sizing Tool

Description

WireStix™ brand sizing tool is designed to quickly and accurately size electrical conductors in the field. Intended for inspectors and electricians, it is manufactured in the USA from UV-resistant, high-strength plastic. This tool gauges the outside diameter of wire insulation to quickly identify the conductor size.

Features:
– Sized slots for solid and stranded conductors
– Covers common conductor sizes with standard insulation jackets from 14 AWG to 4/0 AWG.
– High visibility integral markings.  Markings will not rub off or easily wear off.
– Center hole in each WireStick to allow for placing them on a non-conductive retainer such as parachute cord (not supplied).

Works on the following conductors:
– Modern Copper
– Modern Copper Clad Aluminum
– Legacy solid Aluminum

Please note that the type and thickness of insulation has changed over the years.  Historical, legacy and specialty conductors with cloth, rubber, or hybrid insulation types may not read accurately.  It may be necessary to gauge the bare conductor which is something this tool is not designed for.

Warning: Not for use on live circuits or wires.  Always lock out and tag out circuits before conducting maintenance or inspection work. Do not use this tool to measure energized or potentially energized conductors.
